Life or Something Like it

I am about to go to work soon and truthfully I do not want to go, I am really tired. I did a lot around the house today because this weekend and next week we are having company. It is going to be a huge pain in the butt to do stuff around the house this week because I don't have two days off together which when you are on midnights is like not having a day off at all.

I am hoping to go to the used bookstore tomorrow to trade in some books and get some new ones. Its funny because I told my sister I was going to go there and she asked if I ran out of books to read and I said, no, not really. I just enjoy going to the used bookstore, browsing and buying new books. Its fun for me. I know I am sad.

I went through a really bad time last week, me and Darryl got into a huge fight and for the rest of the week I was constantly crying at the drop of a hat. This job is really affecting me because I never get to go do stuff because I am constantly having to go sleep or pace myself so that I wont use all my energy needed for work and I never get to see Darryl. Everyday I am either just waking up or about to go to bed, so I am cranky and not nice to live with. Everything seems to be a bit better this week, I just have to look for a new job and until then look to happier times when I find said job.

I am reading this book right now that I am so into and really enjoying. I read it before I went to bed tonight and I found myself thinking I was one of the characters in the book having to deal with the asshole characters and I woke up to me clenching my teeth because I was having an argument with one of the guys..lol.

Hmm...apparantly blogger doesn't want me to put a title in today so c'est la vie. Hello old friend, long time no speak. I have been really busy with my new job and when I originally didn't want to jinx it by talking about it ( I know I am superstitious) I now realise it sucks so you can't ruin something that already blows. It is really interesting where I am working but I have to work the grave shift, which isn't bad and I know I am the newbie so I have to do it but, I work every weekend. I kind of expected to work everyone but one a month which would be okay, so you can imagine my surprise when I found out I have to work every one and never get one off. Some people when I tell them this say well you are new but once you put in some time maybe you will be able to get more off, umm no such luck, people that have been there since it opened work every weekend and even if you request one off you wont get it. One of the guys I work with, his parents are throwing him a HUGE birthday party on his birthday which is a Saturday and he wont get it off. Personally I think they should give everyone one off a month because if you don't you are just asking for people to call in sick and them leave you screwed.

Some things I have learned from working there:

- apparantly clipping a wig on at the front of your head, wearing extravagant clothes that are drapped over you and hanging everywhere and having a bandage on your hand, makes everyone else the freak

- old people think they have the right to do whatever they want

- when people lose they forget any manners they may have had

- people are less likely to tip when they win big

- leaning on the counter doesn't mix well with a belly button ring

- you can park a trailer in a casino parking lot and live there

I have learned so much more but I fear that it is inappropriate and may be taken the wrong way by passing readers so I will leave it at that.

I pretty much have had no life since I have worked there which has sucked but we have spent less money and got to save up for future bills and for the wedding.

Darryl and I have been looking at a lot of halls lately trying to figure out which one would be perfect for our wedding, unfortunately every single one has a negative side to it and a positive that they other halls may not have and vise versa making the choice really difficult. We have to book one this fall if I want to get the date I want so we have very little time left to make the decision.

We are having a UFC party tonight, I want to see the fights and I am so stoked about seeing my baby Tito fight but I am feeling very anti-social and really don't want to hang out with the random 'bitches' that some of the guys are bringing. I hate that because I am a woman I am expected to talk to other women, I really should get a shirt that says, does not play well with others because thats how I feel today.

Ramblings

Work has been going good lately. They have been giving me a ton of different shifts which is nice because I get busy nights and slow nights and I get to meet everyone on all of the shifts. I don't know if things are going to workout there because they basically just keep renewing contracts rather then hiring permanently and you have to work every weekend, literally, even if you have worked there for ten years and you request one off, its a no go. I don't mind working every other weekend or even just getting one off a month but working every single one for eternity? I don't think so. Its kind of sucked because I haven't been able to see my family which is a big thing for me.

My toe is still numb, Christina was nice enough to tell me before a wedding I was going to, after being up for 25 hours that it could be diabetes and that is a big symptom of that. So of course I am freaking out, I really don't want diabetes, I love sugar WAY too much, and I hate needles WAY too much. I have been trying to get a hold of my doctor all day if the line isn't busy it just rings and rings. Its very frustrating because I don't think I should have to go to the clinic again to get a second opinion but its almost as if he is leaving me no choice.

I have three days off coming up Sunday, Monday and Tuesday which should be nice since Darryl is on vacation. I am thinking it wont technically be three days off because I will be working on Wednesday at midnight so Tuesday will be spent preparing to work. We are planning on going to the drive-in one of those days which I am really looking forward to, I haven't seen a new movie in forever and I really want to see Knocked Up.

We went to a wedding as I mentioned on Saturday at the end of the day I had been up for 36 hours, yeah me! Darryls slut of an ex was there she was nice until she got some drinks in her and we left because we both were tired of her trying to make herself look better then us and trying to 'one-up' us all the time. The wedding was poorly planned and very unorganised. We basically just went for the bride and groom and they were happy we were there so it was nice. We are planning on going camping as a couple soon which should be fun because they seem cool.

Doctors visit...

I have had some numbness in my big toe for about a week now. It started as soon as I started my new job and has been between really numb and half-numb since then. Darryl thought it was probably my shoes, that they were too tight, because of that and because they were incredibly unfortable to stand in for 8 hours we got me new shoes, still numb. I went to the clinic today to check it out, feeling dumb but I didn't want to ignore it and find out it was something serious. I got good news and bad news, she said it was probably nothing, 95% likely it was nothing but there is a chance I could have ms. They wont test me for it with just my toe numb but if three body parts get numb then my doctor will have to send me for an MRI. She kept telling me not to worry and I should be relieved its nothing but who can ignore that there is a chance it could be something. As soon as it went numb and didn't go away I thought it could be ms but I never said it out loud and I kept my worries to myself but then Darryl mentioned he was worried and thought it may be ms as well. My older sister thought I was insane and that I was paranoid, guess I showed her.

Got a New Haircut!!!

I just tried a new girl, and I LOVE what she did with my hair! Wahoo!

I got Christina to dye my hair tonight and I am okay with it. I went dark as per Christina's advice, and her hair always looks awesome so I decided to take it. I wasn't wearing much make-up so I looked super pale and its summer so I really should have gone lighter but other then that I like it. i went to my other sisters work before I went home and

me - yeah do you like it?

she - its dark

me - yeah, I thought I would go with something different

she - hmm

BITCH! lol j/k. Oh well you win some you lose some, its only hair and I need it cut so I also think that will improve its look.

I got a message from someone I went to public school with and they are trying to plan a reunion which should be a lot of fun. A lot of us have changed and some of us haven't at all. Some of us have kids and are married, and some are bar going bachelors. It should be interesting just to see where everyone is in their lives and what they are all up to. Seeing some of them I get jealous, they have lost weight or have a husband and kids and its like, wait up....I will be there at some point. Anyway I need to lose 20 pounds in at the very least a month, good luck eh? I know. Its my goal and I am going to do my best to meet it. In public school I was really skinny, flat chested athletic kid and now....well......I'm not. So, there is work to be done.

Just before the season ended of Grey's Anatomy I got hooked on it and I am watching some clips of different seasons made into videos to songs on youtube and I am getting so emotional just watching them. I want the season to come back now. I am still not into it enough that I remember names but I was very upset at the season finale when it looked like one couple was going to break up, I don't know any of their history but I like them as a couple and I want them to stay together. Think I could write the show and they could make that happen next season?

Hump Day!

Its hump day already wahooo! It is also my Friday so color me verrry
excited! Plus instead of being off at 5pm I am off at 4:30pm. The bad
news is, I have a ton to do tonight and I woke up late this morning.
If I had just woken up late and then had to go to work, no biggy. But
I had a crapload of paperwork to fill out and fax and some calls to
make so I was a bit stressed.

Some people in my family have had some health issues lately leaving me
extremely worried for their well being. Tests are going to be done and
then we play the waiting game and hope for the best.

I made mexican rice and maple glazed salmon last, and I do say so
myself it was delicious. Right before I started making the salmon
Darryl decided to tell me that he wasn't a big fish fan and while I
was making the rice he got a bit worried about the ingrediants I was
putting in. He ended up loving the finished product which made me very
happy. He was upset at the beginning that it wasn't "Laura's rice"
(rice Laura made us this weekend that he wanted me to learn) but he
still enjoyed it. I had to promise however that I would attempt her
rice later on this week when I have time to concentrate on not
screwing it up.

Grey Room

The conert is today and I don't even think I can describe how happy I
am. I haven't been to a concert in so long nevermind someone as
talented as Damien Rice. I wanted to get a t-shirt to wear my love for
him proud but all of the t-shirts on his web site suck. Grr.

Thank God its FRIDAY!!!! I have been so bored all week working, which
I am happy to work but I prefer to be busy. Instead, I sit in front of
a computer which has a clock on it and I stare at it waiting for the
phone to ring or for someone to give me something to do. Once in
awhile I will ask my supervisor if I can help her with something or if
she has anything I can do and she says no, so they are well aware that
I am sitting up here twidling my thumbs. The only good thing is she
has said that I can check my e-mail and stuff if I want but, the bad
part is the people I write e-mail to actually have busy jobs/days so
they don't get back to me right away.

So.....I have good news.....I GOT A JOB!!!! I didn't want to write
anything on here until it was official. I start around the 28th and
its only part time temporary but it has the promise of a full time job
if I perform well. I was so excited I was ready to cry, don't get me
wrong it has been nice having some time off so I can spend much needed
time with my family, cook Darryl dinners every night but, I have
definately misse contributing to my household financially and having a
purpose every day. The only thing that isn't so great about this job
is that the hours suck but like everything else the newbies do the
shift stuff and once you put in your time you don't have to as much,
so I don't have a problem with that.

Can I go back to bed?!

I am so tired today and I have no idea why. My damn cat woke me up at
5:30am meowing her head off, I was ready to kill her. I have another
temporary job today about 45 minutes from home, which isn't too bad
and if I don't feel like taking the highway I can take the back roads
which is always nice.

I just had a guy come in and he looked like he wasn't sure where he
was, he was looking everywhere but at he asked me a question and he
didn't even seem sure he should be asking me. So I took care of him
and then he just stays in front of my desk looking past me, after a
couple of seconds, he zips back up his jacket, waits, then a couple
seconds later moves to the door, stops there for a few seconds and
then leaves but, when he leaves he turns around and looks back in like
he forgot something. I felt like sasking him if he was okay. Weird...

I am going to a concert on Friday and I cannot wait! I love the artist
and I haven't been to a concert in a really long time. After that I am
going to be having Lo Lo up and we are going to hang out here and then
go to her house to hang out on Sunday and go to Dusk 'til Dawn which
should be fun. I haven't been to the drive-in since last year and all
of the movies we are going to see look really good.

I am starving right now and I still have a half hour util my lunch. I
think I am going to have the new Chicken Snack wrap at McDonalds, they
are sooo good. If you haven't tried them you HAVE to. Well I better

I taught I taw a putty rabbit

I went to my moms for half of the day to help her out. It was weird to be back at home, cleaning and moving things, it had been so long since I had done that before. I was mowing the lawn and my allergies started acting up which sucked. Then just before I left my mom was watering her garden and I thought wow I really need to do that too. So I get home and go outside to get started and I see this rabbit in my garden and it is so still and so nice that I think it is a fake one. I go outside to take a closer look and yep, its a rabbit. I ran upstairs, ran to my purse to get the batteries and ran outside to take a picture. It was so nice and a brown colour, I just wanted to pick it up and pet it.

This one looks creepy, I am crouching and taking a picture through the bars on my deck because I don't want it to run away.

This one is shaky because it was so cold outside I couldn't stop my hand from shaking.

Happy Mothers Day all!

I know its early but I just wanted to get that out there in case I forgot. Me and Christina took my mom out for dinner tonight, it was actually a lot of fun because we went to this new trendy restaurant in our mall and had a delicious meal. I had maple glazed salmon with fries and it was sooo good. I definately have to learn to make it, it was good for me and good for my braces since it wasn't hard to chew and these days thats a big plus.

After that we went to Costco and I got two new books which was awesome. I hate going shopping and thinking...oooh! I am going to get this, and this and oooh I have always wanted that, and then all of the sudden reality comes crashing back and I think I am broke, and I don't have a job. Its so weird I honestly forget and start getting stuff to buy. There was this one big book that was 700 pages and was apparantly really good and only $15! My mommy bought me a new book though and the author that got me into reading came out with a new book and was a really good price so I had enough change to buy it. Now I can't wait to finish the book I am reading so I can start the new one I got.

I don't have work tomorrow so I am enjoying not having to go to bed early and not having to get up early. I did promise my mom I was going to help her tomorrow so I will have to get up relatively early but not too bad. Well I am off to read, have a great weekend everyone!

It is WAY too early

I originally wrote a post this morning but my sister neglected to inform me that you can't use explorer on her computer and it ate my post. So I am going to write this like it was the post I lost.

It is 6:30am and I have been up since 5:30am, and I would give anything for sleep right now! Most people reading this are going to be thinking, why would you get up at such an ungodly hour, well three reasons really, my moms puppy, my moms boiling house and allergies. I didn't get to sleep until 1am also because two out of those three reasons, it is really hard to be mad at a puppy that cute. She is trained really well that if the lights go out it is sleepy time but, the catch is, you have to turn the lights out, you can't sit with the bedside light on and read in order to get yourself into sleep mode. So I turn off the light and get all curled up so she will leave me the hell alone and then its too hot, so I open the window, realise that isn't doing any good, close the window, turn on the fan, that speed is too low, turn up the speed, toss and turn fifty times and by this time Maki doesn't believe the lights off rule and wants to play. Anyway long story short I am exhausted today.

I am sorry that it has taken me this long to tell this story but, as you all know my computer is crap and I couldn't post pics through e-mail therefore making it pointless to post about what happened. So Lisa, here you go!

So the other day I was in my backyard gardening when I heard these loud bangs, it sounded so loud it was either gun shots or someone banging down my door, and then I hear these kids saying "wholey shit!" and laughing. So I cautiously go inside to see whats going on and I see people slowly walking down the street, seeing this I assume it must be safe to see whats going on and I go outside. I go outside and there is a drug bust across the street from me. There is a S.W.A.T team surrounding the house with the whole black outfit, helmet, bullet proof vest and machine guns, and one by one they pull people out, pat them down and arrest them. By the time I though to get my camera I missed the S.W.A.T guy but you get the jist.

Who says being a housewife isn't exciting?!

Time, Time, who's got the time?!

I went to the orthodontist today for my monthly tightening. I
expressed my concern with them about the fact that the holes where
teeth had been removed were not closed yet and that I am getting
married in 2009 so I would like them off by May of 2009 at the latest.
She understood and said, "chill bride" that normally the gaps don't
close right away and it takes some time but, just to relieve my fears
she told her boss about my concerns and he said I should have them off
in November no problem, wahoo! I am a quarter of the way there and I
am feeling great! Although they did add elastics, a power chain and
hook up two more teeth in the back this visit so I am well aware the
'feeling great' is only temporary. I complained to my family that I
wasn't in any pain last time (no pain no gain) so I think I am going
to regret saying that this time.

Last night I waxed my legs and I used this neat product that is
supposed to make it not hurt and even though its not supposed to hurt
you are scared shitless before you rip that first patch of wax off. It
wasn't too bad at all, I have to say the first few hurt a lot less
then the ones following but all in all it wasn't bad. The only shitty
thing is that I ran out of wax so I have hairy gorilla legs and then
nice smooth as a babies bum skin.

Today I have some running around to do for my mom and I might actually
be getting that mp3 player I have wanted forever!! Wahoo! I can't even
wait, I spent the majority of my time last night just looking at it,
researching it and comparing it to other players. I want to make sure
I am making the right decision first. Then I started getting a wole
bunch of movies together so I can put them on right away. Homestar
Runner, oh yeah!

There is something about someone playing guitar that just gives me
chills, I love to hear people play a nice slow song on the guitar
picking, not strumming, I fall in love at that moment. Or whenever I
hear a cello being played in a really emotional song I just close my
eyes and get goose bumps everytime. I love music. Right now I am
listening to Damien Rice - 9 Crimes and it is such a beautiful song.

There is this new song by Carrie Underwood that I absolutely love, it
is about a guy cheating and basically getting him back. It is such a
kick ass I love it. I have never been cheat on before but I hate it so
much and I just love songs that have to do with kicking a guys ass for
being a dick. So if you are mad at a guy right now listen to this, it

Wow

Blah!

Well I am about to leave for work and it really sucks. It especially
sucks because Darryl slept in today so he called in, so we would have
been able to spend the day together but oh no I have to go to work
with a bunch of losers!

Yesterday I worked helping out at a seminar taking place at a resort
in town. It was kind of cool because I got paid good money to sit and
read a book or just occupy myself. The girl I was assisting was pretty
cool and tried to give me things to do so I wasn't bored which was
nice, and all of the staff at the resort was really friendly and kept
asking if they could get me anything. Then to top it off she let me go
a half hour early and said she would sign my sheet saying I didn't go
early. Gotta love rule breakers!

I have really exciting news on the gossip end of my life and I even
have pics but I have to go to work soon so I don't have time to write
about it but I promise I will. Have a great day all! Remember, more

Sexy party

The party this weekend went great and went on without a hitch. I think
everyone had a great time which is nice. I talked to Laura afterwards
and realised it had been three years since we have had one of these
parties so we were definately overdue. To begin the night we had a
fantastia party which was a lot of fun, the new girl I got to do it
was young and a lot of fun. We all had a great time talking about sex
toys and lubes and such. Everyone got something to spice up their
lives which was good and pretty much gauranteed we were all going to
have fun Sunday night.

After that we headed into the games we prepared which involved us all
acting crazy and winning prizes. I won the prize I wanted since I was
the first one to win so I was happy about that. I won to a game I
never thought I would win because it was really hard. It was different
pieces of celebrities faces and you had to guess who it was, some of
them to this day I still don't get and I would like to see the rest of
the picture but oh well.

Once the games were over we listened to sweet music courtesy of
Christina and danced around and sang at the top of our lungs. Of
course stopping for the odd shot every once in awhile.

All in all it was a great weekend, and I don't think I can wait
another year to do it again.

Playing Hookie

Today I am playing hookie, why? Hmm no real good reason, lately I have
been working with Christina and she was feeling really sick and wasn't
going to go so I thought hmm what the hell no work for me too. My mom
called me today to ask me if I was going to tell Darryl which I
thought was so funny, of course I am, how else am I supposed to
explain the fact that there is cleaning done and I am home before him.
Plus its really not something I need to lie about. For reasons I am
not going to get into he really wont care that I didn't go to work. I
feel bad because I always have really good attendance at work but this
job is only for the a week and a half my boss for this week keeps
hitting on me, they didn't hire enough employees to get the shit that
needs done, done so when people can't stay and work 12 hour days they
get all pissy with you and wont talk to you. It is not my problem that
you didn't hire enough people and it is also not my problem that the
first two days on this job you have sat around doing nothing.

It is nice to be able to blog again, I still have to do it through my
e-mail but hey atleast its something. I am hoping Darryl will give in
and we can get a new computer but I am the person that is bad with
money and just splurges on stuff so we probably shouldn't listen to
what I want to do anyway. I mean for the most part it works, I can't
download stuff from the net, my msn keeps crashing, certain web sites
don't work but other then that it is okay. Pfft! We have a lot of
bills right now so buying another big item is not on our list of
priorities.

It is sunny and gorgeous out and the last thing I want to do is go
out. This time last week I was dying to get out of the house but, this
week I am tired, sore and have so much shit to do and no motivation to
do it.

Christina sent me some sweet songs today so I have been listening to
them full blast and doing some cleaning.

Operation Crazy Go Nuts is this weekend, its a family get together
with the younger cousins and aunts to go crazy, basically. Me and my
sisters are hosting it this year at my house and I am so stoked. I
cannot wait for tomorrow to be over. I still have a lot to do between
today and Saturday but hell once it gets here the work will all be
worth it. I haven't seen my aunt and one of the cousins that is coming
in forever and sometimes you just have to make time for family.
